Good for U.S not otherwiseReview date: 2009-01-26 Rating: 2 out of 10What the blurb doesn't tell you is that this book is very biased towards collecting U.S. coins. It would be nice if there was a British version, or even a world version. Unless you want to collect U.S. coins it is best avoided.RevelationaryReview date: 2006-11-29 Rating: 10 out of 10Since buying this book, coin collecting has taken over my life. I cannot express my gratitude to the author and publishers for enriching my life to this extent. Before I read this my life was sad and empty, and now I have lots of coins and everything is good.
Buy this book and start collecting coins. Then give me a call and we can compare our collections!!Everyone has to start somewhereReview date: 2006-01-03 Rating: 6 out of 10Usually the "for dummies book" like a children's book will give you fundamentals to get off the ground on a subject. However this book is too fundamental and too broad and too narrow at the same time. Not that it does not contain helpful information, however right from the beginning I could find no mention of Notgeld or any porcelain coins. Nether did of the referenced address the subject. This leads me to believe that there are other vertical collection markets that are not being addressed or even mentioned in this book. The Author Ron Guth however is an expert and collector in many fields of coins that are not reflected in this book.
